First, preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Generously spray a 9-inch by 13-inch pan with nonstick spray.

In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, coconut sugar, applesauce, and vanilla. Stir together.

Then, add in all remaining ingredients. Stir to combine.

Add dough to the pan. Spread into an even layer. Top with more chocolate chips if desired.

Bake for 25 to 27 minutes or until the middle is set.
Note
Use Vegan butter instead of coconut oil for that signature buttery caramel flavor.
