Caramelized Bananas

Difficulty: Beginner Prep Time 5 mins Total Time 15 mins
Servings: 4

Description

Add these caramelized bananas to French toast, pancakes, waffles, or simply top with a drizzle of peanut butter and chocolate!  The bananas become soft, gooey, and golden-brown.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. First, add coconut oil to a large skillet over medium heat.

  2. Once the oil is slightly hot, add the halved bananas with the cut side touching the pan.

  3. Sprinkle sugar over the tops and sides of the halved bananas, allowing the sugar to start to caramelize and melt in the bottom of the pan.

  4. Cook for about 3 minutes. Then carefully flip.

  5. Sprinkle more coconut sugar and cinnamon (optional) on top.

  6. Finally, remove from heat and serve!

Note

Use yellow bananas.  Green is too tart and brown is too mushy for this recipe
