Description

The perfect bread for serving with a hearty fall or winter soup.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Add 1 ½ cups of warm water to a large bowl, sprinkle sugar and yeast on top, and set aside until frothy. In a separate bowl mix together the psyllium husk and the remaining ½ cup of water.

  2. Combine the gluten-free flour, and salt with the yeast mixture and psyllium husk mixture. Stir together until a ball forms.

  3. Remove to a floured surface and knead for 5 minutes until smooth and slightly sticky.

  4. Drizzle with olive oil and cover with plastic wrap. Leave in a warm place to rise for an hour.

  5. Preheat the oven to 450 ºF/220 ºC

  6. Gently shape the dough into a long loaf shape on top of a sheet of baking paper and bake for 35-40 minutes until crispy and brown.

  7. Let cool then cut in half lengthways.

  8. Mix the butter, garlic, salt, and pepper and spread over the two loaf halves.

  9. Bake a further 10-15 minutes until crispy and brown.

  10. Slice and serve with vegan garlic aioli.
